Powering Change: New Start Highland Goes Green
As part of our commitment to helping Scotland move towards Net Zero and strengthening our role in the circular economy, we are loving the recent installation of 250 PV solar panels to our Carsegate headquarters.
This project, led by the Forres-based renewable energy specialists AES Solar, marks the beginning of a highly anticipated series of reconfigurations to our Carsegate site this year.
Thanks to the support from the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), our retail spaces, offices, training building and storage facilities will now all benefit from solar energy and are expected to save 15 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year—the equivalent of planting approximately 704 trees.
James Dunbar, chief executive at New Start Highland, said: “The installation of our new solar panels marks a significant step forward in enhancing our energy efficiency. The installation process was seamless, and we are excited to experience both the environmental and economic benefits of this investment. Combined with our new electric vehicles and charging stations, these panels underscore our unwavering commitment to sustainability and a cleaner future."
