Charity Concert Sings Praises of New Start Highland
Inverness’s biggest Christian choir Acclaim has selected New Start Highland to be its partner charity at its eagerly anticipated 2025 Christmas Concert. The concert will be held on Saturday 13th December at 7.30pm at the Free North Church on Bank Street, Inverness.
New Start Highland is Scotland’s leading reuse charity and social enterprise. This year marks its 25th anniversary, to date it has supported over 1,500 people a year and managed the reuse of over 1 million items.
Mairi Macaulay, New Start Highland deputy chief executive, commented:
“The Acclaim Christian Choir is made up of members from all over the Highlands who are supported at events by local musicians. We are hugely grateful for their support and can’t wait for what will be a wonderful evening.”
Elaine Kirkham, Acclaim Choir Leader, said:
"We are so thankful for the opportunities we have at each concert, to not only sing amazing Christian songs, but to raise money for charities. Tickets for the concert are free, but we accept donations for a charity, and this time it's New Start Highland.
“We were established in 2012 and since then, have raised around £80,000. All these vital funds have gone to our sponsored charities, including Blythswood Foodbank, Marie Curie, Highland Hospice, Mikey's Line and The Haven. Our Christmas concert is a lovely opportunity to hear (mostly contemporary) Christmas music as well as getting to sing some favourite Christmas Carols with the choir."
Tickets are available from choir members or can be collected via the choir’s Facebook Messenger.
